Dr. Michele Kilo is a graduate of the UMKC School of Medicine and completed both residency and fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital. From 1991 until 2018 Michele led the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences as the Division Director. In the year 2000 Dr. Kilo started the physician well-being program at Children’s Mercy. Michele has served or continues to serve on numerous non-profit Boards, as Board Member and Board President, including Crittenton Children’s Center, Children’s SPOT at St. Luke’s Hospital, Horizon Academy, JDRF, Jellybean Conspiracy, Reach Out and Read – Kansas City, The Farmer’s House, Kansas City Center for Conflict Resolution, UMKC School of Medicine Alumni Board and The Thompson Foundation. She has received awards for her advocacy on behalf of children’s health and well-being.

Dr. Kilo left Children’s Mercy in April 2018 and is pursuing new endeavors to support and care for physician colleagues and healthcare professionals including training through the Physician Coaching Institute and Kansas City Center for Conflict Resolution. She plans to utilize these new skills to serve those in healthcare to lead healthier and more fulfilled lives and careers.
