Many children with autism may also struggle with digestive issues. Dr. David Beversdorf of the Thompson Center recently conducted a study that could lead to approaching these problems with precision medicine. Dr. Beversdorf’s team “identified specific RNA biomarkers linked to children who had autism and experienced gastrointestinal symptoms.” Beversdorf said, “‘This research can potentially help contribute to precision medicine one day…with the ultimate goal of reducing their symptoms and improving their quality of life.’” Read more about the study.
